Connecting to your server

Where to type your address, per game, and what to do when it will not connect.

Your address looks like yourname.knightkeep.net, and most games also need the port. Both are shown on your server page — copy them from there rather than typing from memory.

Minecraft (Java)

Multiplayer → Add Server → paste the address. If your port is not 25565, include it: yourname.knightkeep.net:25566.

Minecraft (Bedrock)

Play → Servers → Add Server. Bedrock asks for the address and the port in two separate boxes.

Terraria

Multiplayer → Join via IP → enter the address, then the port when asked, then your server password.

Valheim

Join Game → Enter IP or invite code.

  • Crossplay off: type the address with its port, then the password.
  • Crossplay on: type the 6-digit join code from your server page. The

address will not work, and the code changes every time the server restarts.

Crossplay lets Xbox and Game Pass players join, but it closes the door the address uses. You choose which you want in your server's Settings tab.

7 Days to Die

Join a Game → Connect to IP → address and port, then the password.

When it will not connect

Work through these in order:

  1. Is it actually running? The server page shows the live state. If it says

Starting up, wait — see Getting started.

  1. Did you include the port? Not every server is on the default port,

because each one needs its own.

  1. Did you restart the game? Many clients cache a failed lookup for the life

of the process. Fully quitting and reopening fixes what looks like a dead address.

  1. Flush your DNS. On Windows, run ipconfig /flushdns. A new server's name

can be cached as "does not exist" for a couple of minutes after creation.

If none of that works, open the console on your server page and read the last few lines. It usually says plainly what is wrong.

Still stuck? Get in touch with your server name and the last few lines of your console.
